Happy Lunar New year
It’s the year of the Wood Snake

The Lunar New Year signifies the end of the winter and the arrival of a new year.
It’s certainly feeling quite wintery out there still but the light is changing and in a few weeks there will certainly be the signs of spring arising.
2025 is the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese zodiac calendar, a 12-year cycle represented by animals. Each year is associated with a specific animal, influencing the characteristics of those born under its sign.
Many of the associations with snakes are not very positive but like with all things, negative associations can also be reframed and like with Yin and Yang, there are always positives to any negative – you can’t have one without the other.
The snake is also referred to as “little dragons”, they shed their skin and the “dragon’s coat”, signifies good luck, rebirth, and regality.
Those born in the Year of the Snake, particularly in the Wood Snake year, are thought to have a blend of wisdom, creativity, and introspection. They are good at adapting to changes, understanding complex situations, and learning from their experiences.
In Chinese medicine, the Wood element – associated with the liver and gall bladder meridians and organs, represents adaptability, flexibility and rootedness. For a tree to survive winds and storms, it has to be able to bend with the elements, to not be too rigid and brittle.
The Wood element is also about creativity, having a vision, being able to make decisions and to move forward with a plan.
The Wood Snake blends the qualities of the Snake with the influence of the Wood element. Snakes are traditionally seen as wise, strategic, and mysterious – with an ability to transform. They are known for their sharp minds, problem-solving skills, and an ability to navigate complex situations.
The Wood element adds a layer of growth, creativity, and flexibility, making the Snake more adaptable and open to change.
Just as the Snake sheds its skin, this year represents the opportunity to renew oneself, embrace new possibilities, and leave behind outdated ways.
This year symbolizes growth, renewal, and adaptability, encouraging us to reflect on our paths, embrace change, and seek personal growth.
For individuals born in the Year of the Snake, 2025, especially with the influence of the Wood element, may bring personal transformation. It’s a time to focus on self-improvement, whether that means embracing new opportunities, letting go of old habits, or taking bold steps toward personal and professional growth. The Wood Snake year encourages everyone to reflect on their goals, adjust their mindset, and grow into the best version of themselves. It’s a perfect time to renew your goals and embrace changes that align with your true self.
Let’s all embrace change and move forward together.
